 *IMPORTANT NOTICE ON SUPPLEMENTARY EXAMINATIONS* 

University of Calabar


The University of Calabar Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academics, Prof Angela Oyo Ita has approved the following directives for supplementary examinations:


1. Supplementary examinations for all departments and Faculties are scheduled to begin on *7th June and end on 21st June 2021.* 


 2. All applications for the examinations should pass through the *HODs and Deans to VC Academics office between now and  21st May 2021.* 


3). Applications will no longer be entertained by the DVC Academics  after *21st May 2021.*


4.Following approval for the examinations by the DVC Academics, HODs should communicate to the Chairman of the Time -Table Committee 

the list of courses to be taken and the number of students involved in each course so as to aid adequate allocation of classrooms.


5. *Every student for the supplementary examinations will be expected to show evidence of payment of fees and all the school charges.*_ 


6. Course coordinators should bring the signed exam attendance sheets of the relevant exams  for the last main exam for cross checking  by exam monitors.

NUC splits Mass Communication into 7 other degree programmes

 The National Universities Commission (NUC) says it has not abolished the study of Mass Communication in Nigerian universities, saying that the course has just been unbundled into seven other degree programmes. Mr Ibrahim Yakasai, the NUC Director of Corporate Affairs disclosed this on Friday in Abuja while clarifying the commission’s position on some online reports claiming that the NUC had phased out Mass Communication. Yakasai urged universities wishing to run the new programmes to seek permission from the commission before running them. He also said that universities across the country have authority of the commission to begin the programmes as soon as they met the necessary requirements.
